Mr. Clouse received his Bachelor?s degree and Master?s degree from the George Washington University. He received his law degree from The George Washington University Law School. He is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and England and Wales (non-practising). He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. He is a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP). Prior to joining TTC, Mr. Clouse has been in private legal practice with a focus on patent drafting and prosecution and licensing. Mr. Clouse was also a technology licensing specialist for the NIH?s Office of Technology Transfer, where he managed a prosecution docket composed of gene therapy, biological response modifier, and cancer technologies with 14 contract law firms. Mr. Clouse also negotiated patent and biological material license agreements and inter-institutional agreements to bring technologies to the marketplace. In this capacity, Mr. Clouse negotiated agreements with large pharmaceutical companies, small and mid-sized biotech companies, and not-for-profit research institutions and universities. Mr. Clouse has spoken to trade and industry groups and government agencies regarding licensing, license negotiations, licensing strategies, and export regulations. Mr. Clouse is past-president of the Patent Lawyers Club of Washington, D.C., and is a member of the D.C. Bar, the Law Society of England and Wales, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Licensing Executive Society.
